Notice Board

** We have recently had a new telephone system installed - please let us know if you experience any problems with it. **

The new system will soon allow you to book doctors appointments over the telephone at any time of the day or night without the need to speak to a receptionist - as soon as this is possible we will inform you on our website, by posters in the waiting room and by messages on the side of prescriptions.  We would encourage you however to speak to a receptionist if you prefer.  Any feedback you have will be appreciated.

** ANNUAL PATIENT SURVEY **
Our most recent patient survey was conducted in September 2007, below is a summary of the results:

a) Questions relating to the doctors were left for them to consider as part of their own personal development, although scores were similar to previous years
b) Overall, this was probably the best patient survey we have had since our first one in 2004
c) In the evaluation questions, the only scores which dropped (and only by 1 point and 2 points) were those relating to availability of doctors, but even those are 24 and 16 points higher than the national benchmark
d) We had a large increase on satisfaction with phoning through to the doctor for advice, hopefully as a result of changes put in place following previous surveys and all involved are to be congratulated
e) In the comments section, many patients commented about their own health or improvements that they could make rather than relating their responses to the practice
f)Many positive comments were made, more than negative. Of those that were negative a proportion related to opening times, and the additional hours requested at evenings and weekends increased
g)Waiting times were greatly improved on previous surveys
h) Issues relating to car parking and disabled toilet facilities have been passed to the health centre administrator
i)Our best scores compared to the national benchmark were on satisfaction with the availability of a particular doctor, availability of any doctor and waiting times (all our scores for benchmarked questions were the same as or better than the national benchmark)
